Monica Belucci

As a lover of all things food related, it comes as no surprise that I have a soft spot for food photographers. People who are passionate about sharing delicious food with the world are a treasure to behold. When food bloggers share their recipes and tricks of the trade, I always feel a little bit of jealousy. They have a talent that I wish I could acquire. Never before have I been so inspired by a single food photographer as I have been recently.

Delicious Inspiration

Some of the food photographers I follow have an eye for style as well as flavour. One of my favorite blogs is Eating Culture, which documents the life of a Monica Belucci. She travels the world for inspiration and curates each post with stunning food photography.

One of my favorite recipes from Eating Culture is the salami pasta. It is inspired by traditional Italian salami and it uses classic pasta shapes like pappardelle and fettuccine to showcase the ingredient’s wonderful simplicity. It is fresh and light yet packed with umami flavor. If you want a truly luxurious experience, use quality pasta that has a rough texture and taste the difference. I cannot think of a more fitting way to celebrate the summer than with this refreshing yet indulgent recipe.

Pasta, Pici, And Pizza

The salami pasta is just one of the many sumptuous recipes that Monica Belucci has curated from her travels. She regularly shares her top tips for creating delicious meals at home and she often uses fresh pastas and other easy to follow recipes to prove it. Another wonderful blog that follows a similar formula is Minimalism in the Kitchen. On the site, she shares her love for simple yet decadent Italian food. Although the site is about minimalism, each recipe is so stunning that it feels as though you are indulging in grandeur.

The combination of creamy pasta and aromatic tomato sauce make this dish a real crowd-pleaser. It is ideal for a summer evening, especially if you are serving it outside in the countryside. One of my favorite ways to enjoy this recipe is to serve it with a side of cheesy grilled zucchini and cherry tomatoes. Simply peel the zucchini and separate the cherry tomatoes from the more dull specimens. Place the marinated vegetables on a hot grill pan and cook for about 8 minutes until the tomatoes are slightly charred on the outside.

A Global Gourmet

Monica Belucci was born and raised in Milan, Italy. She studied Food and Social Studies before taking up photography as a hobby. She became interested in photography after she had a heart-to-heart with her boyfriend about how she wanted to capture their romantic date night. From then on, her lifestyle blog Eat Your Heart Out! was born.

Her blog is a journey of discovery, an exploration into her culinary tastes and the global culinary scenes that have inspired her. Often, she will visit restaurants in Milan that her Italian friends have discovered and helped to promote. She will leave a review that catalogs the meal and shares the experience with her readers.

The way that Monica Belucci documents her culinary escapades is both informal and meticulous. One of my favorite images from her blog is of a pizza slice. It is the kind of photo that makes me hungry just to look at it. Each bite-sized photo is a glimpse into the mind of a global gourmet. It’s a treasure trove of pizza spots, gelato shops, and pasta houses from which to choose. I could happily spend hours drooling over each delicious photo on her blog.
