Caprice Bourret

Caprice Bourret’s artistry can be experienced in many ways. As a singer, she wowed audiences with her performances at London’s premier musical theater, performing in the West End and on tour with international artists like Andrea Bocelli and Lady Gaga. She subsequently made her New York stage debut starring on Broadway in Spring Awakening, for which she received a Tony Award nomination. As an actress, she has appeared in various films and on television, and even narrated the PBS children’s show, Peg + Cat.

Musical Theater

Bourret’s musical theatre career began in her native England, where she first performed with international artists like Andrea Bocelli and then-singer/songwriter Lady Gaga, with whom she formed a partnership. She subsequently toured with Bocelli as his support act, singing and dancing in theatres across North America, Australia, and New Zealand, including Toronto’s famed Winter Garden Theatre.

Films And TV

Bourret has appeared in numerous films, including She’s Out Of Control and Four Feet Under. More recently, she has had supporting roles in the acclaimed films Miss Bala and Sing Street, and starred in Lifetime’s The Balcony, for which she received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She has also appeared in various television series, including New Girl, Chicago P.D., and The Handmaid’s Tale, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

Broadway

Bourret made her Broadway debut in Spring Awakening, playing the role of Marjorie Merriweather, a competitive student who finds herself in a love triangle with two men. The musical premiered on March 13, 2016, at the Golden Theatre in Chicago and then opened on Broadway in October 2016. For her performance, Bourret received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. In early 2017, Bourret signed on to star in the Broadway adaptation of Heathers, the dark comedy by William Shakespeare about life in the high school in between classes. The actress will play Veronica, opposite Tony winner Jack Murphy, who will take on the role of Heather. Murphy has also directed Bourret in the role of Heather at Chicago’s Shakespeare in Vegas.

Recording And Touring

In addition to her many accomplishments in the arts, Bourret has also lent her talents as a recording artist. In 2018, she released her debut solo album, Caprice; the title track was featured in the trailer for the Broadway musical Once, and the track “The Girl Who Couldn’t Say No” was featured in the film adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale. In late January 2019, Bourret released her second solo album, The Art of Love; the first single, “Every Little Thing,” was also featured in a trailer for a movie based on the novel The Art of Love by Amélie Maurois. In February 2019, Bourret announced that she was teaming up with Lady Gaga for a massive world tour in the fall of that year. They will perform together as part of Gaga’s Artistry tour, which will visit North America, Europe, and Australasia.

One of the highlights of Bourret’s 2019 will be her headline residency at London’s glamorous Hotel Albert, where she will perform songs from her critically acclaimed debut album as well as new material. The residency begins on April 27, when Bourret releases her first single from the residency titled “In The Name Of Love.” She is also scheduled to appear at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre in July and August.

To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Golden Theatre in Chicago, Bourret will perform there on October 12, 2019.
