Here, we’ll explore some of the most memorable and stylish costume and hair creations from her various film and TV appearances.

The Expatriates

Mulheron played the dual role of Alex Forrest, an English teacher and translator who suddenly decides to leave Australia after being unjustly fired, and Anya, her spunky Australian roommate who initially tries to stop her. Set primarily in Paris, France during the 2016 summer season, the series depicted the pair’s adventures as they tried to adjust to life in the big city. Their stylish and fashionable flair combined with their exuberance for life in Paris made for an entertaining and memorable couple. The pair lived together in a chic Paris apartment and were constantly experimenting with new styles and fashion trends.

Apart from her roles on The Expatriates, Mulheron has also starred in various commercials and short films. One of the more memorable spots featured her as a rebellious princess who tags along after Prince Charming as he travels to deliver wedding dresses to fair isle-inspired brides. Since then, she has gone on to appear in various commercials and music videos. When asked about the inspiration behind the iconic white wedding gown, Mulheron said, “I think when it comes to the princesses, I always try to keep it as real as possible. I want the viewer to feel like they are walking in the streets of London or visiting the court of Queen Victoria.”

Paris

Mulheron’s role as Anya in The Expatriates was actually her first big break. The series was shot in Paris and she was able to study the city and its fashion scene in detail. While she often wore vintage clothing and accessories in the show, she revealed that she actually spends a lot of her time in Paris shopping for the character’s outfits, mostly at the famous Chanel boutique. She even buys a whole outfit including the bag and matching shoes just to get the look right. She said, “I love the way Coco Chanel interprets fashion and how she keeps it alive, especially now when there is so much pressure on designers to keep up with the latest trends. I feel like it’s such a breath of fresh air to be able to go to a place like Chanel to find affordable fashion.”

Aside from her time in Paris, Mulheron has also enjoyed traveling to various locations for the series including Versailles, London, and the Italian Riviera. When asked about the most exciting parts of the filming process, she said, “I love traveling to locations and being able to see the city through a lens. I also love that I get to be so creative with my outfits through a lot of the shooting.”

The Handmaid’s Tale

While Mulheron was initially hesitant to take on the role of Gilly, the handmaid in Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, she eventually decided it was something she had to do. Drawing on her experience as a final year student at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she had performed in various stage productions, she was able to channel all of her emotions into the role. She described the experience as both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. In preparation for the role, she began taking acting classes and learned to do facial exercises to keep her expressions in check. She revealed that she was actually quite relieved when she found out that she was playing the handmaid part because she always wanted to try and develop her talent as a singer. However, she quickly realized that being a handmaid was a whole different matter.

Mulheron revealed that she didn’t think the role was well-defined and often found herself questioning her choices. She said, “You just have to kind of go with the flow and do what you are told. It’s not always easy being a handmaid.”

Lingerie Football

Mulheron joined the cast of The Handmaid’s Tale in 2016 and quickly rose to fame in her native Australia for her role as a lesbian police officer in the TV show Ms. Perkins Solves the Sex Crimecase. Fans of the show dubbed her “lesbian Nancy Drew.” She played the officer in a series of commercials for the lingerie chain Bondi Blue. In the ads, Mulheron solves various sex crimes while in character as well as shows off her athletic prowess. The ads were part of an effort by the lingerie company to encourage girls to participate in sport and physical activity. Mulheron said that she was actually quite surprised by the extreme popularity of the character she played in the Bondi Blue ads. She said, “I didn’t really know what to expect. I thought maybe there would be a bit of a following or something, but I didn’t really think that it would be this big.”

Alexandra

Mulheron’s character Alexandra in the movie House of Gucci is a fashion-forward socialite who is constantly changing her look. Often appearing in glamorous clothing, the character is described as a “celebrity in her own right” because of her many high-profile roles. Even in her early days as a child actor, she had been known to dress up in fancy attire. She also has a fondness for expensive perfumes and designer accessories. While she is most famous for playing the glamorous socialite, Mulheron revealed that she actually enjoys playing characters with more depth. She said, “I love the glamorous stuff, I really do, but I think that there is more to life than just showing up for work and going home. I want to show a different side of myself, which is why I like playing characters with more substance.”

Mulheron has also been seen in various films including the romantic comedy Love Lies and then Some and the crime thriller House of Gucci. She plays a supporting role in the former, appearing as a stylish friend of the lead character Julia Roberts. When asked about the most luxurious scene in the film, Mulheron had this to say:

“One of the most luxurious scenes is when Julia Roberts’ character has a fancy meal prepared by her friend Tiffany. It’s a beautifully shot scene and I think it really showcases the wonderful wardrobe Tiffany brings to the table. I enjoy playing around with different styles and clothing lines and being able to show a different side of myself through my outfits.”

Apart from film, Mulheron has enjoyed making a name for herself in commercials. One of the most memorable spots featured her as the face of the lingerie chain Bliss. The actor/model began wearing the lingerie in the spot and continues to be featured in various advertisements for the brand.

Princess Leia

Mulheron has also done some voice work for Disney and has played Princess Leia in various video games. She provided the voice for the titular character in the 2017 edition of the Ultimate Disney Mobile Game and reprised the role for the 2018 release. The princess can be viewed as a style icon because of her striking resemblance to the character from A New Hope who famously said, “There’s no escape. We can’t withdraw to a quiet corner of the universe and leave the rest of the universe to go back to being as it was.”

Mulheron’s likeness to Princess Leia has also led to her being cast in various stage productions. The most recent of which is The Force Awaits, a stage play based on Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Playing Princess Leia, Mulheron donned a silver outfit and spoke with a British accent for the show. Since 2018, she has been the face of lingerie brand La Perla and can be seen in various print and digital ads.

Jane Eyre

Based on the classic novel by Charlotte Brontë, the Netflix series Jane Eyre is set in the late 19th century and follows the titular character as she tries to live independently and away from her overbearing parents. While some characters in the show look like they stepped out of a Victorian novel, Jane Eyre mostly sticks to the styles of the time period and wears quite a bit of pink. Like the novel it is based on, the show is stylish and filled with beautiful fashion choices. When asked about her favorite outfit from the show, Mulheron had this to say:
