Sandy Moelling

Sandy Moelling has been designing and creating fine jewellery for over 20 years. Having started in traditional gold and white precious metals, her designs have become increasingly innovative, pushing the boundaries of both style and materials. Unique, complex and multilayered in design, each piece will tell a story.

The Story So Far

Sandy Moelling’s journey began in the United Kingdom where she established a small workshop to support her design practice. She began by focusing on creating bespoke pieces for private clients, special events and photo-journalism. As her reputation grew, so too did her client base, which in turn led to a period of international travel and the opportunity to experiment and push the boundaries of both her design practice and jewellery making.

In 2016, Sandy returned to her native country of Australia and set up an office in Sydney in order to scale up her design business. She continues to design and create bespoke pieces for private clients and special events, as well as developing new products and launching lines for leading luxury brands.

Sandy’s Designs

Sandy Moelling’s designs are characterised by their strong narrative structure. She believes that a good design should have a beginning, a middle and an end, and each piece she creates is a step along the way to the full story. Complex yet attainable – and frequently containing a narrative element – Sandy’s designs are a marriage of tradition and contemporary living.

Sandy’s work has been recognised by numerous awards and her talent has been featured on the front page of international publications, including the New York Times. She is an active member of the Designers Guild, speaking regularly at conferences and exhibitions globally.

The Future

Sandy Moelling continues to design and create pieces for private clients and special events, as well as developing new products and launching lines for leading luxuries brands. One of the unique things about Sandy’s designs is that they don’t just tell a story, they become part of it. Whether it’s a wedding ring for a bride, a piece of jewellery to be worn for the rest of her life or even a model to be exhibited in a gallery, each one is a work of art in its own right and demonstrates the bespoke design philosophy of Sandy Moelling.
