Rosy Cheeks was created by French artist, Yann Arthus Bertrand, who is famous for producing many photorealistic images depicting the female form. The images are intended to be used in magazines and other printed forms. In the case of Rosy Cheeks, Bertrand used a new technique of painting with computer software to create images of a doll posing nude in his garden.[1] In addition to the painting, two different videos, one with music playing and one without, were created with the same photorealistic scene. The doll was named after the painter, who said that she looked like a 1950s French housewife.[2] Bertrand used the painting in 2001 to create a sculpture of the doll. The Rosy Cheeks doll was created as a piece of interactive art for an exhibition at the Galerie d’Art du Saclay.
