Megan Fox

You might know her from her role as the feisty co-star of the popular TV show, “Party of Five” or maybe you saw her in that sexy scene from “Angelina Jolie: Unbroken”. But if you did your research, you know that Megan Fox is a lot more than just a Hollywood face — she’s a powerful force for good in the world. Whether it’s her dedication to animal causes, her commitment to environmental issues or her devotion to feminism, Megan has always been a champion for social change and a defender of women’s rights. Here, we’re taking a closer look at some of the amazing things that Megan Fox is doing to make the world a better place.

Saving Animals

One of Megan’s earliest causes was animal welfare. She co-founded the charity group, Halo 4 Good, a coalition of animal welfare organizations that came together to create a more effective voice for animals. The group’s goal is to end animal homelessness by securing legal, safe, and sustainable shelter for homeless animals. According to Charity Navigator, a research firm that evaluates and scores the impact of charities, Halo 4 Good is rated as Animal Charity Number 85 out of 100 on the basis of annual funding, effectiveness, and transparency.

At the time of writing, the organization’s income in 2019 is £24,000 and expenses are £27,000, leaving a surplus of £3,000. And, in case you were wondering, the group does not accept money from corporate sponsorships or government grants. In the year to September 2019, the group has found homes for 713 animals including 346 kittens, 191 puppies, and 116 large and small animals. Since its founding, Halo 4 Good has secured funding from a range of sources including the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), and the Greta and Sven Berggren Foundation. In 2018, the group received a £1.3 million grant from the AHA! Fund to support its work.

Dealing With Tricky Issues

Megan Fox is also the founder of Bite Back, a charity that campaigns to raise awareness of rabies, a disease that kills more than 55,000 people each year. The cause is often attributed to poor animal health education and living conditions that contribute to the spread of the disease. More information and stats can be found here.

The leading cause of death in dogs worldwide is attributed to cancer. Every year, the disease claims over 16 million dogs’ lives, mostly between the ages of two and twelve. Sadly, there is no cure for canine cancer and it’s a disease that will continue to be a huge issue in the future.

There are various treatments and operations that can be helpful in treating dogs with cancer. But, as with many other diseases, early detection is the key to a better prognosis. That’s where vet-to-pet scanning comes in. Through a process called computed tomography (CT scan), your vet can get an image of your dog’s internal organs and detect any signs of cancer. If the disease is detected early, there’s a stronger chance of survival. With that being said, there’s no doubt that dogs are man’s best friend and, as a result of that, we should treat them with the utmost respect.

Giving Back To Community

Megan Fox is actively involved in community programs as well. In 2018, she was appointed an honorary Sheriff for New York County, after which she donned the black robes and executed justice — in a good way. As part of the appointment, Megan became a member of the Sheriff’s Honorary Society, which is essentially a group of law enforcement officers who donate their time to help the public. The Sheriff’s Honorary Society of New York County provides a safe and secure environment for the public to access services that support their community, such as education, job training and placement, and substance abuse prevention. While on the topic of community involvement, here’s an interesting fact to consider: The New York County Sheriff’s Office is the largest law enforcement agency in New York state and third largest in the United States. Its jurisdiction covers an area of over 30 million people with a population of over 800,000.

A Champion For Women’s Rights

Finally, let’s not forget about Megan’s role in inspiring some of today’s most prominent feminists. In 2015, she spoke at a Women’s Event in London, organized by the British Association of Lesbians and Gilts (BALGM) to support the rights of gay women and non-binary individuals. During her speech, she encouraged the audience of mainly female attendees to be proud of their sexuality and to fight for their right to exist. The speech was hailed as a powerful message of inclusivity and it was featured on the cover of several LGBT magazines.

Earlier that year, she had also spoken at an event in support of the Women’s Equality Party (WEP) — a political party campaigning for gender equality. At the time, the UK was in the middle of a general election and the WEP aimed to encourage more women to become involved in politics. According to the Electoral Commission, there were 22.9 million inactive voters in the UK in 2018, of which 11.7 million were women. While only 4.7 million men voted in the EU referendum, that number is likely to have been inflated by around 300,000 people who voted multiple times.

In light of all these accolades, it’s evident that Megan Fox is doing something right. She’s found success in Hollywood but, more importantly, she’s found success in the world. And, as a result of that, we’re ultimately better off for it. Through her charity work and community involvement, Megan Fox is helping to make the world a better place — one person and one voice at a time.
