Filippa Hamilton

Hey there, and welcome to my content-packed blog. My name is Filippa, and I’m a travel and lifestyle blogger based in London, UK. I blog mostly about vegan recipes, lifestyle, and travel. You can find me on social media platforms including Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube, where I post videos of me using vegan products and baking vegan goodies. In this blog post, we’re going to take a quick look at my life and how I got started in blogging, so you can get a sense of what this blog is all about.

How I Got Started In Blogging

To put it simply: I had enough. Enough of being told what to do, or how to feel, or even what to think. I was tired of being fake, and I decided to do something about it. I started a blog. The name of my blog is Raving Foodies, and it was born out of a passion for vegan food and living a cruelty-free lifestyle. I was tired of feeling weak, and I wanted to prove to the world that a vegan diet could be healthy, could be powerful, and could be necessary for various reasons.

I wanted to give people the tools to look inside themselves and decide for themselves what was important to them and why. My blog came about as a bit of a side project, but it quickly became my full-time job, and it still is. My main focus is to raise awareness about the dangers of animal testing and promoting a vegan lifestyle that’s beneficial for everybody. I write mostly about veganism in my own life, but I also cover other important topics such as health, fitness, and nutrition. Each week, I try to post at least three new recipes to the blog – some are fast, some are slow, but they’re all delicious and most of them are vegan. Most of the recipes on my blog are adapted from other food blogs and magazines, so if you’re looking for authentic Filipino dishes, visit the Philippines and get some culinary inspiration there!

The Importance Of A Blog

It’s important to note that even though a lot of my content is vegan-friendly, that does not mean that everything on my blog is necessarily or even mostly vegan. For example, I will always have foods with eggs in them that are not suitable for vegans. Similarly, some of my recipes call for honey, which is not vegan. The key takeaway from this is that even though a lot of my blog’s content is accessible to vegans, it should not be seen as a vegan blog. That would be misleading, and it could cause potential readers to think that a vegan diet is what the blog promotes when, in fact, that is not the case.

A vegan blog promotes a vegan lifestyle, but it does not have to be solely or even predominantly vegan to be classified as such. In the same way, a yoga blog does not have to promote yoga exclusively, but it can be seen as a guide to a healthy lifestyle that includes yoga as part of it.

Why Do You Blog?

I started a blog because I was looking for a way to express myself creatively, and I saw blogging as a potential outlet for that. I enjoy writing and find it therapeutic, so when I got the idea for my blog, I knew it was a great fit. Plus, I get to talk about things I’m passionate about, which is quite a lot, actually! I mainly started blogging for personal use, but soon discovered that it was a lot more fun writing for a purpose, and that purpose was to make people think and make a change. It’s important to note that even though my blog mainly focuses on veganism, I do write about other lifestyle topics such as fitness and nutrition on occasion because they are integral to creating a healthy and happy lifestyle. I love to experiment with different diet and lifestyle changes, so I always have a lot to write about.

What Have You Learnt From Blogging?

From the very beginning, I knew that I wanted my blog to be a place where people could come for help and suggestions, so I built it that way from the ground up. I tried to keep the navigation as simple and uncluttered as possible, but even so, I still managed to throw in a lot of useful information and tools for people to use. For example, I carry a vegan cookbook with me everywhere I go, and I use it to look up quick and easy vegan recipes when I’m hungry or bored. Or if I’m travelling, I check the vegan section of the online travel guide to see what’s available there. Or if I’m feeling creative, I bake a vegan meal and share the recipe with my readers. Or if I come across an inspiring quote or lyric, I’ll write them down and keep them in a special place on my blog so that I can look back on them whenever I want.

Along with providing information and tools, I want my blog to be a place where people can come for inspiration. To that end, I regularly feature guest bloggers on my site who are industry experts in their chosen fields, and I always give them full credit for their work, even when the content is completely original and meant for my own blog’s purposes. In the same way, I regularly write about personal stories that inspire me and make me think: stories of people who’ve overcome adversity and found success in life, whether that be in fitness, or health, or nutrition, or finances, or creativity, or even relationships.

What Next For You?

Well, for now, I’m happy where I am, but I’m also looking forward to the future with excitement. I’ve recently been accepted onto the Board of Directors of the British Vegan Society, and I’m looking forward to helping to lead the way in making veganism legal, acceptable, and more accessible in the UK.

I want to continue to grow my blog as a place for people to come for help and inspiration, so if you have any suggestions or tips for me, or ideas for what I should write about next, please feel free to get in touch!
