Carri Lee

Hello, my name is Carri Lee and I’m a lifestyle and culture blogger, who currently lives in London.

I previously lived in San Francisco where I worked as a journalist for seven years. While I was in San Francisco, I established myself as a culture and lifestyle blogger, which led to my first book, San Francisco: The Ultimate City Guide, being published in 2017. As well as being an author, I’m also a photographer and makeup artist, specialising in weddings and high-end events.

Why Blogging?

Blogging is a fantastic career choice for those who want to continue to write and produce content while also being able to make a living from it. As well as having the opportunity to make a living from blogging, you also get to explore a variety of topics in depth and interact with others through your work. It’s a great way to learn something new whilst also being able to share your knowledge with those who need it.

Since establishing myself as a lifestyle and culture blogger in San Francisco, I’ve had the opportunity to develop my own take on fashion, beauty and lifestyle, which I feel is unique and has attracted a very engaged and dedicated audience. I truly believe that if you put in the work and build a following, the platform will follow.

How Has Blogging Changed Your Life?

The main difference I’ve noticed since I began blogging is that I feel more motivated to do and be better. When I first started, it was pretty much just for fun but I soon saw the potential in being able to establish myself as an authority in my subject matter. Since then I’ve had the opportunity to write and talk about a variety of topics and feel that my viewpoints and experiences have given me a greater depth and understanding of the issues I’ve covered. It’s definitely made me a more rounded and well-balanced person and I feel that my life will be better for it in the long run.

Blogging has also opened up a whole new world of opportunities for me. Whilst I was living in San Francisco, I started a side-hustle of consulting and became an editorial fashion stylist for a daily e-commerce publication. Since moving to London, I’ve been able to build on this experience and am now a freelance fashion stylist working for a variety of publications and clients, including high-end brands and governmental bodies.

Where Do You Want to Be in 2025?

In 2025 I hope to be living and working in London full-time, styling primarily for high-end brands and looking after some of the most demanding clients. I’d like to think that my experience in San Francisco and my ability to build a client base in London mean that I’ll be well prepped for whatever comes my way in future.

I firmly believe that anyone, no matter where they are in the world, can become a successful blogger. All you need is a desire to learn, be passionate about your work and have a following. Once you’ve got those three things, the rest will follow.
