And now, she’s decided to share the gift she’s been blessed with and create a brand new genre—singer-songwriter, in which she combines her talents with some of the best and brightest songwriters and producers from all over the world. The results are nothing short of incredible, as her new album, self-titled Beyonce, which was released on November 24, 2018, is already proving to be a massive success, debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. We’re beyond honoured to have been asked to contribute to this monumental project, and as fans of hers and/or listeners of Loud Luxury, we can’t contain our excitement for this monumental album. Beyonce’s Influential Career

It’s not a secret that Beyonce has been extremely prolific, releasing a whopping 48 albums to date, earning her status as one of the most successful solo artists of all time. But what is perhaps most astonishing is that she’s accomplished all of this by being wholly self-sufficient, relying almost completely on her own talents, drive, and vision. In a 2010 interview with Billboard, she claimed that she’s “not really interested in giving [her] audience what they want. [She’s] more concerned with giving [her] audience what [she] needs.” Considering how many people who loved and still love her music, it’s evident that she was on to something. As she would later explain in the same Billboard interview, “I definitely don’t need anyone’s permission to be myself. I don’t need anyone to like me or approve of me. I just need to be me.” And it is this unwavering individuality, this self-sufficient and singular genius, that makes Beyonce so unique, transcendent, and influential in the absolute best way. She has proven time and time again that she will not be treated or categorized as anything other than who she is: a groundbreaking original who is making history, one record at a time.

The Formation Of Beycolection

If you’ve been listening to popular music for any amount of time, you’ll no doubt have heard of the iconic record label, Columbia. One of the first labels to recognize the commercial potential of hip-hop, Columbia has been home to many iconic recordings, including Michael Jackson’s Thriller (1982), which is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time. But aside from being a bastion of greatness, Columbia has also been the home of some extraordinary, groundbreaking, and innovative artists. As it happens, Beyonce, who was then known as Beyoncé, was a member of one such group—the famous and acclaimed duo / group / songwriting team / production team / musical collective, Destiny’s Child. After helping to write and produce some of their early releases, Beyoncé decided that she wanted to create a new project and label, one that reflected her own unique vision and gave her creative control over the project. And so, in 2006, she founded Beycolection, named after and inspired by her former group. As she told Billboard in the same 2010 interview, “I had this dream of having my own record label and being able to represent my music and my artists, and that’s what I’ve been doing.” For those of you who are unfamiliar, Beycolection is a record label, started by and featuring a majority of Beyoncé’s artists, which she officially labels as her “children.” We couldn’t think of a more fitting, or self-sufficient, parent.

The Evolution Of Beyoncé

While Beyoncé has always been considered one of the greatest singers of all time, she has never felt the need to rest on her laurels. On the contrary, she has always felt that she has more to offer, more growth to make, and more music to create. And she has consistently proven to be right. Since the very beginning, Beyoncé has released numerous groundbreaking albums and been a pioneer of many new genres, styles, and techniques. From her very first solo album, 2003’s Be, to her most recent work, the self-titled Beycolection album, she has always felt that she can always improve, always find a new way to express herself, and always challenge the expectations of those around her. In a 2017 interview with Vogue, she said, “I have a vision for how I want my career to look and I don’t plan on stopping until I get there. Whether it’s with my next album or my next single, I always try to find a new way to grow and a new way to challenge myself.” We couldn’t agree more. And you can’t help but be inspired by or listen to her music and albums, over and over again, because she will always find a new way to improve and a new creative outlet to explore, and it will always make you feel inspired to pursue your own dreams and goals, no matter what stage you’re at in life.

Why Is Beyoncé’s Album So Important?

Aside from being a trailblazer in so many ways, Beyoncé’s impact on the music industry and pop culture as a whole cannot be understated. Her voice, which has been described as “breathy and sensual,” is an integral part of the record-breaking sales of her previous albums, including 1999’s B’Day and 2003’s Be. She is also responsible for some of the most iconic and memorable videos of all time, including “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” (2017) and “Formation” (2018), which has been viewed over 300 million times on YouTube. And let’s not forget about her groundbreaking visual album, B’lore which she released in 2007, that is among the first albums to prominently feature a non-western and non-male perspective. It was an unprecedented move at the time and completely changed the face of music videos. Beyoncé is able to effortlessly switch between singing and dancing, as well as play various instruments, including the piano and the guitar. She is also known for being one of the most-requested celebrity guests at music festivals, appearing at some of the biggest and most influential festivals, including Coachella, Made In America, and more. It’s not hard to see why. With Beyoncé, you always know what you’re getting: a groundbreaking artist and performer who will never be “done.”

And now, with the announcement of her new album, the question on everyone’s lips is: will it be her comeback album? Many believe that Beycolection is her final album, as she has allegedly said she is “retiring from the music business”. However, considering her groundbreaking legacy and influence, it’s more than likely that we’ll be hearing new music from Beyoncé in the very near future.
